What we collect, and what we don’t.
Written in plain English, and describing only what this site actually does. Last updated 8 August 2026.
Who we are
CYPHERIFT builds websites for tradespeople in the United Kingdom and the United States. For data protection purposes we are the data controller for information collected through this site. You can reach us at info.cypherift@gmail.com or +1 (609) 682-0450.
What we collect
There are only two ways this site collects anything about you.
When you fill in a form
The enquiry form on our contact page asks for your trade, the area you work in, your current situation, what you want the site to do, your name and your email address. A phone number and any extra detail are optional. The call-booking form on the same page asks for your name, email, phone number, a preferred date and time, and optionally a package and notes.
Everything you type into either form is sent to us by email and nothing more. We do not run it through a CRM, an advertising platform, or a marketing automation tool.
Anonymous usage measurement
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to see which pages get visited and how quickly they load. These record page views and performance timings without cookies and without building a profile of you. We cannot use them to identify individual visitors.
What we don’t collect
- No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party ad pixels.
- No accounts, passwords, or logins — there is nothing to sign up for.
- No payment card details. Payment is arranged directly with us, away from this site.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your details with anyone for marketing.
The only thing this site stores in your browser is a small setting recording that the site displays in dark mode. It contains no personal information and never leaves your device.
Why we hold it, and for how long
We use what you send us for one purpose: to reply to you, build your demo, and carry out work you ask us to do. In UK and EU terms our lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you started, and performance of a contract once you become a client.
Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within 24 months. Records connected to paid work are kept for 6 years, which is how long tax and accounting rules require.
Who else can see it
We keep the list of companies involved as short as we can:
- Vercel — hosts this website and provides the anonymous analytics described above.
- Google — our email runs on Gmail, so form submissions arrive and are stored there.
Both are based in the United States, so your information may be handled there. Nobody else receives it. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy terms.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info.cypherift@gmail.com and we will deal with it within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are in the UK and you think we have handled your information badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information about children.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and the date at the top. We will not quietly start doing something with your information that this page says we do not do.
Questions
Ask us anything
about your data.
If something here is unclear, or you want your details removed, one email is all it takes.
